Brook Square Surgery is a member of SCORE Primary Care Network and one of the services we offer is a Cancer Care Co-ordinator.
Our Macmillan Cancer Care Co-ordinator works within the practice and can offer advice and support to you, your family and friends. Everyone’s experience of cancer is unique but there is a range of support services and information available to you, which you may find beneficial. For non-medical concerns or worries, our Macmillan Cancer Care Co-ordinator may be able to help you directly or refer you to someone who can.
Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA)
The prostate specific antigen (PSA) test is a blood test that can help diagnose prostate problems including prostate cancer. It is not a perfect test. It will miss some prostate cancers, will detect some that would never go on to cause harm and can show a raised PSA level when there is no prostate cancer present.
