COVID-19 Vaccinator

We are looking to appoint a COVID-19 vaccinator to a zero hour contract

As a Covid-19 vaccinator you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in providing a caring, quality service to patients during the mass delivery of the Covid-19 vaccine. You will be responsible for administering the vaccine to the patient population as per the mass vaccination delivery model.

You will be a registered Nurse, Registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist, Pharmacist, Dentist or other registered healthcare professional with suitable equivalent, proven experience.

You must work at all times within your own competence and use your own judgement, knowledge and common sense in your day to day activities.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Assess the patient’s readiness for vaccination within your scope.
  • Address any concerns the patient may have and ensure that clinical assessment has taken place prior to vaccination.
  • Communicate routine, complex and sensitive information to patients and/or their relatives and colleagues.
  • Dilution and drawing up of the vaccine from multi-dose vials within your scope.
  • Administration of the vaccines to patients whom have consented and been assessed, ensuring it is conducted in line with the patients current condition i.e. standing or seated.
  • Ensure correct use of equipment, e.g. syringes and needles.
  • Ensure that vaccine batch numbers are appropriately recorded in the patient record.
  • Adhere to the businesses clinical waste and sharps protocols when disposing of syringes and sharps.
  • Adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Follow in house, local and national Infection Control guidelines.
  • Responsible for safe use of equipment and resources, ensuring equipment is maintained and suitable for use.
  • Assist with the monitoring of vaccine and other related stock.
  • Undertake mandatory training and other training relevant to the role.
  • Participate in clinical audits within your scope.
  • Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of health and safety and security at mass vaccination sites.
  • Work with the team to ensure high standards of cleanliness of work stations.
  • Work with the Management team to coordinate workload and service needs.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required within your general role as Covid-19 vaccinator.

Health Care Assistant 

 We are looking to appoint a Health Care Assistant to join our Nursing Team. The Nursing team consists of Clinical Support, HCAs, Practice Nurses and Advanced Clinical Practitioners, all who support each other through team work and communication.

The candidate should have at least an NVQ2 in Health and Social Care and have experience within a health care setting.

The post holder should effectively manage their own time workload and resources, asses own performance and take accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervision. The post holder should be able to communicate effectively with team members and patients, and recognize where there is a need for alternative methods of communication.

The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the Practice Health & Safety Policy

Clinical Admin Assistant


The post holder will work within the Business Support Team and will be responsible for the creation of rotas, working in conjunction with the Clinical Manager, providing a high level of accurate clinical administrative support to the clinical team and business areas of the Practice. This may also include provision of administrative support for the wider practice team.


The post holder will work in a team-orientated environment, encouraging joint ownership of the progress we make. The highest levels of confidentiality and customer service, both internal and external, must be maintained. Promoting and adhering to Care Quality Commission standards for Primary Care.


Main Duties / Key Tasks:


Provide clinical rota and administration support:

Duties will include, but are not limited to:


Rota Co-ordination

  • Planning GP rotas each month in agreement with the Clinical Manager and GPs
  • Implementing GP rota’s and clinical rota’s onto the clinical system, as per processes.
  • Ensuring appropriate cover during extended access and extended hours
  • Ensure all clinical rotas are maintained accurately and are consistently up to date.
  • Ensure regular appointment management
  • Authorise annual leave through the agreed processes for clinical staff, checking information against rotas and ensuring sufficient staff are available to run an efficient and safe service.
  • Coordinating changes/queries to the rota
  • Communicating with all staff regarding the rota when appropriate
  • Communicating with the Clinical Manager and PST Team leader regarding appointment and clinic issues
  • Arranging locum cover for the rotas, in agreement with the Clinical Manager
  • To be able to deal with on the day absences promptly and effectively
  • To be the point of contact for all rota queries



Clinical Administration Support

  • Providing administrative support to the Clinical Manager
  • Drafting clinical meeting and nursing team meeting agendas and minute taking at meetings, as required.
  • Clinical stock data entry
  • Arrange and organise home visits
  • Support and facilitate flu clinics
  • Support and facilitate COVID clinics
  • Monitor clinical workflow tasks
  • Oversee and monitor the nursing teams weekly and monthly tasks
  • Arrange and facilitate training within the nursing team

  • Update nursing team templates on SystmOne as require
  • Support the team in other admin tasks when needed.

Data Quality Team Member


We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Data Quality Team.

The candidate will need to provide accurate and timely information. To drive the business of the practice forward, by enhancing data quality and performance standards. The responsibilities of the post-holder will include focus on detail and accuracy of data entry and extraction for reporting and audit purposes.

Interrogation of data to ensure compliance with the practices Information Governance policies and procedures, pro-actively initiating data quality improvement projects, thereby aiding the smooth running of the practices computer systems and processes.

Main Duties / Key Tasks including:




  • Daily administration of the electronic links to the pathology laboratory ensuring accuracy and compliance with current Pathology Protocol


  •  Summarisation of new patient’s notes.
  • Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patient’s medical history and read coding the information into the practice clinical system
  • Monitoring progress of notes summarising against practice targets
  • Liaison with the local health authority regarding registration/medical records queries

Data Entry

  • Extraction of necessary data from clinical correspondence and input into electronic patient record, by scanning, attaching to the correct patient and the use of the Read Code Formulary.
  • Monitor and ensure data is consistently entered and run searches to find anomalies
  • Advise the Data Quality Manager of any problems arising from data entry which are otherwise unresolvable
  • Manage the practice Cytology and Immunisation targets through the use of data review and updates on the Open Exeter system 


  • Initiate, run and monitor patient call and recall systems
  • Pro-actively look at ways to improve patient response and uptake to invitations.


  •  Auditing data collection standards in the practice
  • Set up and run clinical searches      
  • Ensure accurate report output
  • Interrogate data for audit purposes
  • Run NHS England Contract/CCG searches and reports

Private Work (Non-NHS)

  •  Communicating with patients and relevant 3rd parties.
  • Logging in medical reports/medical records requests and attaching to medical record.
  • Creating invoices.
  • Creating medical report/ copy of medical records.
  • Processing payments.
  • Finance reconciliation.
  • Working to close timescales.  

General Administration

  • Actioning any photocopying requests
  • Monitoring stationery and ink cartridges and order as necessary.
